Violist Nicolas Corti and guitarist Han Jonkers will give a concert at the restaurant «Zum Isaak» in Basel on November 21 – an opportunity to listen to Spanish and South American sounds for an evening.

A duo of viola and guitar is a rarity in our musical landscape, but these instruments complement each other wonderfully. The warm deep sound of the viola fits perfectly with the sound idiom of the delicate sounding guitar and so both instruments come into their own.

Violist Nicolas Corti and guitarist Han Jonkers have been performing together for many years. They have developed a great passion for the wonderful music in this instrumentation.

The new program focuses on the folk music of Spain and South America. Under the title «Passion on Ten Strings – Música Española – Tango Zero Hour» they give a one-hour concert with commentary of Spanish and South American music by Manuel de Falla, Isaac Albéniz, Enrique Granados and Astor Piazzolla.

Concert start at 17:00
Zum Isaak (Kellertheater), Münsterpl. 16, 4051 Basel
Registration under jonkers@bluewin.ch or 078 798 16 15
Free admission – collection in favor of a new CD production with this program.
